More about Richard Orlandi, MD
Dr. Richard Orlandi is the only fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in rhinology in the Intermountain West. Following a six-year residency in otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat surgery) at UCLA, he completed dedicated training in rhinology and sinus surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Orlandi applies the latest techniques in minimally invasive nasal, sinus, and anterior skull base surgery to his patients’ care. He also teaches these techniques to others, lecturing throughout the US and internationally as well.
Nasal, sinus, and anterior skull base conditions require a comprehensive evaluation to determine the nature of the problem and the best options for treatment. Often this requires sophisticated radiologic imaging, a complete examination of the ears, nose, throat, and neck, and an endoscopic examination of the nose and sinuses. All of these capabilities are available at the University of Utah Hospital - Clinic 9 (ENT), where Dr. Orlandi sees patients. Following a thorough evaluation, a treatment plan is individualized for each patient. Treatment options for most sinus and nasal conditions primarily involve medications, while allergy treatments and sinus surgeries form a second line of treatment. Dr. Orlandi’s practice focuses on conditions affecting the nose, sinuses, and anterior skull base.
