Why you should choose a Pediatric Otolaryngologist
Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist for Children
Pediatric Otolaryngology is a surgical specialty that deals with conditions related to the head and neck in children. While ENT physicians also treat children, a pediatric otolaryngologist is trained to treat ENT diseases unique to children and perform more complex ENT surgical procedures in children. Such conditions include airway obstructions, sinusitis, ear disease, hearing loss, head and neck masses, and voice problems.
One of Dr. Grimmer’s areas of expertise is in vascular anomalies, which are an abnormal growth of blood vessels. Most vascular anomalies such as simple hemangiomas need no treatment, however, some can be disfiguring, cause physical impairment and can rarely be life-threatening. Given the complexity of vascular anomalies, patients are best treated by a multidisciplinary team of physicians such as we have at the Vascular Anomalies Center at Primary Children’s Medical Center.
